Jim's stage “career”began with female roles at an all boys school before his voice broke.He has been an intermittent “am dram” member over the last 65 years,playing parts ranging from Mortimer Brewster in “Arsenic and Old Lace”and Professor Higgins in “My Fair Lady”to a range of character roles from Shakespeare to pantomime baddies. He has worked backstage as a scenery painter, scene shifter and stage manager, directed two pantomimes and has been involved in administration as secretary of the Anglo-Cypriot Theatre in Nicosia for five years and currently on the committees of the Axe Vale Amateur Operatic Society and Testudo Musical Players as Patrons’ Secretary He is also temporary chairman of the Seaton Drama Group.Professionally he was a teacher of English literature, business and aviation English to German management trainees and Open Univesity Humanities in England , Germany and Cyprus.
